Hello, DISCO Goers!

We’re excited to introduce to the world DISCO Slovenia: Digital Sovereignty Conference, a project we have been working on for the past 9 months. DISCO is a regional event that aims to create a space, where we can come together, share, learn, and discuss our digital destinies.

This year's conference, subtitled Civil Society Reimagining Technological Progress, will focus on how individuals and communities are reclaiming sovereignty over our digital destiny. On the first day of the conference we’ll hear from inspiring speakers, on the second day we’ll learn from each other and facilitate opportunities for sharing, and on the last day we have several training sessions lined up for you. We hope you join us and share your story! Or if you just want to listen, that’s ok, too. In 2023, digital sovereignty must be included in every conversation about human rights and autonomy. Only through empowered control and ownership over technology, data, and infrastructure can we truly attain independence and wield influence over the course of our future.

We’ve decided to get the DISCO party started because we are inspired by the work of amazing activists and organisations around the world. We want to hear about your moves: come share with everyone what you’re doing and how it’s going. Let’s strengthen our community and amplify the reach of our work. This year’s conference is only an opening beat – first in a series of groundbreaking events yet to come.
